Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) is reputable college under the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM). Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) was officially brought up in 22nd July 2005 via the Government Notice No 202 section no 55 and The University of Dar es Salaam Act No 12 of 1970. The establishment of this institute was as a result of fulfillment of primary Education Development programme and Secondary Education Development Programme that aimed to solve the demand for teachers in both primary and secondary education
Since establishment Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE) has been working under three pillars such as Teaching, Research and Consultancy and Outreach Programmes. In Teaching the university provides both undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs via three faculties such as Faculty of Education, Faculty of science nd Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
In Research the institute was actively engaging in groundbreaking research across natural sciences, humanities and education. These research aims at focusing on real world challenges and sharing findings that benefits communities across the country
